In very heavy, wet clay soil, rapeseed was sown in early August in combination with fenugreek, black medic, and red clover, with or without the addition of spring field beans.<br><br>Now, as winter ends, a clear difference in the rapeseed\u2019s growth and biomass is visible. Thanks to a root system featuring both a deep taproot and a dense network of fine roots rich in nodules within the top 15 centimeters, the field beans helped mitigate the risk of root suffocation, preserve good soil structure, and maintain active soil life.
